The state govt has approved a payment of Rs 116 crore to the consortium led by L&T Technology Services, which is setting up a state-of-the-art cybersecurity and digital threat analytics centre in the state. The contract, worth Rs 838 crore, was awarded to L&T Technology Services Pvt Ltd (Consortium lead) and KPMG India LLP (Consortium Member) in 2023, with the project expected to be implemented in phases over five and a half years.
The approved payment will be utilized for purchasing the necessary system integration hardware and its mobilization. This marks a significant step forward in the establishment of the fully AI-ML driven command and control center, which will provide advanced cybersecurity solutions to the Cyber Police of Maharashtra.
The center will be equipped with cutting-edge technology to detect deep-fakes and conduct social media forensics, enabling the Cyber Police to effectively combat the growing number of cyber offences registered across the state. As cybercrime cases and related threats continue to rise, the implementation of this project is crucial in preventing and mitigating such incidents.
By leveraging artificial intelligence and digital forensic tools, the command and control center will analyze data, identify vulnerabilities, and develop strategies to prevent cyber offences. The project aims to strengthen the cybersecurity infrastructure of Maharashtra and provide the Cyber Police with the necessary tools and resources to tackle the ever-evolving landscape of cybercrime.
