Dinesh Kumar Shrimali has joined Tata Steel Ltd as its Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Data Protection Officer (DPO). With over 22 years of experience in global leadership roles in cybersecurity, Shrimali brings a wealth of expertise to his new position, having previously served at Welspun and UPL Ltd.
Speaking about his appointment, Shrimali expressed his excitement, stating, “I am thrilled to join one of the most established and largest steel manufacturing companies and to reunite with the Tata group. My aim is to leverage the insights gained from my previous experiences to strengthen the company’s security stance.”
In his new role, Shrimali will be overseeing and managing Tata Steel’s information security strategies and policies. This includes implementing robust security measures, conducting thorough risk assessments, and developing effective incident response plans to mitigate cybersecurity risks. Simultaneously, he will ensure compliance with data protection laws and regulations, focusing on the handling and processing of personal data within the organization.
