With the dawn of a new year comes a fresh start for your online security. Cybersecurity experts warn against using weak passwords, as they leave you vulnerable to hackers. An annual report by NordPass highlighted the most commonly used passwords in India, revealing that several of them can be cracked in mere seconds.
NordPass revealed that it has reviewed and analysed a massive 2.5TB database compiled from various publicly accessible sources, including the dark web. The data has been categorised by country of origin for detailed analysis. It primarily consists of passwords that were either stolen through malware or exposed in data breaches.
“123456” has once again claimed the title of the ‘world’s worst password’. The password has topped the charts as the most common password 5 out of 6 times. “Password” held this title just once.
