With heartfelt gratitude, Mathan Babu Kasilingam bids adieu to Vodafone Idea after an impactful tenure as CISO. As he closes this chapter, he eagerly embraces new challenges and opportunities on the horizon. Prior to this appointment, he was with NPCI and HDFC Bank.
“It has been a rewarding experience working alongside the exceptional teams at Vodafone Idea. My time here has profoundly shaped my perspective on the cybersecurity industry, with agility emerging as a crucial metric for success. I wish Vi all the best, confident that its brightest days are yet to come,” Kasilingam commented while discussing his exit.
Kasilingam announces his departure in a LinkedIn post:
Life is a revolving series of hellos and farewells.
Today, it’s farewell for me. I have been with Vodafone Idea Limited for the last almost 4 years, which is not a short journey in the grand scheme of life. And with a heavy heart, it’s time for me to say ‘stay in touch, best of luck, and take care’.
It has been an absolute pleasure working in such a high-velocity and challenging environment with great people to pick the brains of and to learn from, in particular (with the Senior Management Leadership team and the Technology Leadership Team of Vi and other stakeholders at Vi and the partners who helped shape Vi).
Being with Vi has changed the way I think about the cybersecurity industry, what culture means in an organization, and how being agile is the key to success and how to still be the best in Cyber with constrained resources with otherwise available at disposal for many.
I’ve also learnt that challenging the status quo is not a luxury, but a must. For good or for bad.
Vi has its best days ahead and I can’t wait to see what its future holds. Serving as CTSO & DPO and working with such a fantastic, dedicated team to accomplish all that we have was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
To all my colleagues, friends, and everyone who I crossed paths with, thank you for making the last four years so special.
The page flips to a new chapter now.”
