One such expert is Dr Rakshit Tandon, who is speaking today at the HDFC Bank’s Cyber Security Summit organized in collaboration with The Times of India at ITC Maurya, New Delhi. Dr Rakshit Tandon serves as a distinguished cyber security evangelist, national cyber security expert and crime Investigator. He specializes in cyber forensics and ethical hacking for India’s law enforcement agencies.
Currently, he holds the position of Consultant – CID with the Haryana Police Department, where he focuses on training and cybercrime investigation assistance. He has received numerous awards and accolades for his continuous endeavors to spread awareness on cyber security.
Educational institutions frequently invite him to conduct ‘safe surfing’ sessions on cyber security & hygiene. His expertise contributed significantly to UNICEF’s research on “Child Online Protection in India.”
With 20 years of expertise in cyber security, he dedicates significant attention to children’s cyber hygiene, particularly those between 10 and 18 years. His outreach efforts have impacted more than 70 lakh young individuals nationwide.
As a key resource person and visiting faculty at the Bureau of Police Research And Development (BPRD), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, Dr Tandon provides training in cyber crime investigations to law enforcement officers across the country.
His contributions include establishing cyber cells for various state police departments and training their staff in cybercrime investigation complexities. He has successfully resolved numerous critical cybercrime cases nationwide.
Dr Tandon holds honorary membership in the Indian Police Foundation (IPF) and serves as Mentor & Coordinator for various Cyber Security Internship Programmes.
